David Agnew & Eric Sweeney

David Agnew, accompanied by Eric Sweeney, will play a programme of popular classics. David has studied with the world's greatest oboists, Heinz Holliger and Maurice Bourgue at the International Master Class in London, Paris, Avignon and Cologne. He has performed as soloist with the RTE Concert Orchestra and all over the world playing a wide range of music from traditional to pop and classical. Following on a chart-topping single success with the instrumental “Gabriel's Oboe”, the theme from “The Mission”, David went on to release six successful albums, including three Celtic Music collections.

The Waterford based musician and composer Eric Sweeney will accompany David Agnew. Eric studied in Ireland, England, Belgium and Italy and has been composing since the late 1960s. He is currently head of the Music Department at Waterford Institute of Technology.
