| Hui & Kuok - The HK Duo Chinese pianists, Hui and Kuok - better known as The HK Duo - make their European debut at this year's festival. Their performances have won huge acclaim from casual listeners and critical musicians for their power and sensitivity as well as their exceptional unity of musical purpose. The programme includes Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin, Mother Gartan’s Lullaby & Puck Fair by Trimble, the second suite op17 by Rachmaninoff and the virtuoso La Valese by Ravel. The HK Duo was formed in 2000 when Hui and Kuok met at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Following a successful début, the pair started performing regularly at the academy and other Hong Kong universities. They were invited to perform at the 40th anniversary celebration of the Hong Kong City Hall as well as the Academy International Chamber Music Festival.
