Dance Works at Garter Lane: Innovations

An informal evening of dance works devised and performed by arts graduates and newly established dance artists.
Exploring the creative energy generated between musicians, writers, film artists and dancers.
Garter Lane hosts this platform for vibrant and exciting new artists on the threshold of their professional careers

SOURCES with FEATHER

WYDmoves and Fluxusdance present a unique contemporary dance event from choreographers Cathy O Kennedy and Libby Seward . This promenade performance premieres FEATHER a new work for teen and adult members of WYDmoves, the community dance programme of Waterford Youth Arts. Local performers will join the artists of Fluxusdance in this collaborative multi media experience.

The audience will travel through Garter Lane Arts Centre, on a dance journey in time and space. SOURCES features installations by sculptor Seamus Dunbar and filmmaker Jana Riedel with a music score that includes work by John Spillane and Micheal O‘Muircheartaigh.
The arts installations will be open to the public during the day (26 th and 27 th October) when dance excerpts from the programme will be performed.
This project has been funded by the Arts Council, supported by Waterford Arts Office and sponsored by Ardkeen Superstores Ltd.

“CHILLER” TEENS DANCE PERFORMANCE PROJECT

Date: Tuesday 30 th October Time: 7pm | Venue: French Church |Ticket Price: Free

In just 24 hours this group of young people from Waterford will create and present a spine tingling dance performance, in this suitably spooky venue, inspired by the spirits of Halloween.
This performance project led by WYDmoves dance facilitator Libby Seward is aimed at young people aged 13 plus of all levels of ability, enthusiasm and energy essential!!
